Macro capability

I have seen a lot of suggestions which could be solved by macros. The latest was a transparent button. The Toolbars can only get so big. Why not add the capability for the user to create some macros for frequently performed stuff and then allow us to add an icon to the toolbar much like Office 2003 could do. (I have not seen 2007). I have a toolbar with lots of special functions on it in Word and in PowerPoint but very few would be useful to the population in general. And sometimes I add one for a big project and then delete it when no longer needed. This approach would solve a lot of the requests people have asked for - but not all.
