Mystery Error Chime on Certain Pages
January 24, 2016 12:00 AM
When I select certain pages in the tree in my course, I get that "bee doo" error chime sound, for no obvious reason. For example, one of the pages just has a couple of text blocks and an image on it...nothing that should be triggering an error. The page runs fine in both native and browser preview, too! And I can't figure out what all of the pages that give me this error chime have in common, either!
Has anyone else ever experienced this? I'm pretty sure I can just ignore it (although it is kinda of annoying), but I'd love to know why it keeps chiming at me!

I think I've figured it out! If the page title (in the tree) has any kind of non-alpha character in it (like a hyphenated word, or a question mark or parenthesis, or whatever), then it give me that error chime. Not sure why though...I've never had a problem publishing a course with it that way and the error check doesn't complain about it either.
Is this a bug or is Lectora trying to alert me to something that I really should fix?
Lectora has alway been very generous with these warnings (http://community.trivantis.com/forums/topic/incessant-pinging-in-lectora-11-3-1/). I've never witnessed any further problems, when just ignoring it. I get a ping every time I hit an arrow button to move several objects at once (only if I've selected these objects in the title explorer). No ping if these objects are grouped no matter if they a grouped by a group, by a question or by a form.

I turned off the ping on my computer because of how often it makes this sound whenever I do anything in Lectora.
I think you're right. I had several page titles with non-alpha characters and had to rename them all as the pining was incessant! Hopefully, later versions have corrected this huge annoyance!
