Removing an External Object Resource

Quite a while ago, I created an e-course that included the calc.exe file as an external object resource. However, our new LMS won't allow .exe files to be imported, so I had change the course's calculator functionality to use a JavaScript calculator instead (which works just fine). However, I can't figure out how to remove the calc.exe file from the course's external objects list in the Resource Manager, so it keeps including it in the published folders. Obviously, I could go in and manually delete it from the extern folder, but I think it would just reappear again the next time I publish it.
So, does anyone know how to remove an external object? There doesn't seem to be any kind of "Delete" option in the Resource Manager...
