multiple audios playing on a page

A lot depends upon how you are controlling the audio. If you are letting the student use the control bar that you can include with each file, I don't know that there's much you can do. However, if you are using your own start actions (let's say a button, for this example) you can have two stop actions and one play action on each button. So for audio clip A, there would be a stop action to stop b and c, and then a play action to play A.
Also, I have found that when you are using complex actions on audio files, it is best to use FLV format. I tend to run into unexplainable issues with MP3 and Wav, because it is up to each student's computer settings to determine what software to use to play the file. But with FLV format, it always plays with Flash.
