Lectora 508/JAWS/Keystrokes?

I am just learning about 508, JAWS, and Lectora, so forgive my ignorance...I'm confused...1. Why would Lectora employ custom keystroke equivalents that it knows will conflict with a popular screen reader (JAWS), forcing a workaround that defeats an important accessibility technique (Skip nav) that Lectora itself recommends for screen readers? Am I missing something?2. If JAWS Navigation Quick Keys are disabled, wouldn't that be enormously tedious for a training program that includes both Web and other sources (Word doc, PDF)?I second Joe's suggestion that a separate forum topic be created for 508.
