Word opens in popup, PDF opens in parent

I encountered the same experience. It made it difficult because users view the course in a player that does not show the browser toolbars, so they couldn't go back once the clicked on the word document. As in other posts, we decided to make them all PDFs and use the go to web address feature. We will have to rethink this if we create an assignment that needs to be turned in.
