Rank & Sequence Questions (randomizing)

Hello
I am trying to create a rank and sequence question using the "choices in droplist" option. I would like to randomize the choices at run time. However that seems impossible. It does seem however that the choices are randomized when the question is created. I do not want to use the numerical dropdown boxes as I am working with language and it would be better to be able to see (a) sentence(s) rather than numbers.
I encountered the same frustrations before when trying to use drag and drop questions.
Personally, I hardly ever use quizzes as such but some people I work with like to do so and they ask me to create templates for them.

I'm a little confused on your use case. Can you explain what you mean when you say your working with languages? Are you having the questions translated and it wouldn't make sense for the numerical 1 sense because not all countries use roman numerals? I could definitely see a case for making the field editable in that case.
In the case of using wording to match the order of something wouldn't you instead use a matching question or several multiple choice questions on one page?
Just trying to get an understanding of what you're looking for so I can bring as much information back to the dev team as necessary.
