Problem with OnDone...

Hello

I have an audio file which is supposed to play a certain number of times (15 actually). I have set it up with an Action which is triggered through OnDonePlay (when the file stops playing it plays itself again). It does this until it has played itself 15 times.

The control variables and the conditions are set correctly inside the action and elsewhere. Everything works perfectly well. However, from time to time, and for no reason that I can detect (I monitor the variable and all seems normal), the audio file plays only seven times. Because all of the variables are incrementing correctly and at the right time (and the comparison point is not reached), I am starting to think that there may be a bug in the OnDonePlay action.

Has anyone encountered this before? Are there any simple solutions to the problem?

Thanks for any help

Andrew

Hi undefinedmnotermans and thank you.

Hmmm... I do have Chrome as my default browser - but it breaks only intermittently. It works ok most of the time in a browser.

I should have said that it breaks not just in a browser but also inside Lectora in Run mode or Preview mode. But as I said, it is intermittent and I can find no pattern - except that it stops after 7 iterations. Could it be a Flash problem maybe????

I will look at how undefinedmnotermans did it.... and learn something. Thanks again

Andrew

mmmm... somehow Chrome keeps troublesome ;-) Audio now plays in my version, but only once...so their probably is some browser-incompability too with something..FF and IE work fine...

Ok... its indeed the latest flash plugin that causing audio issues in Chrome.

  • In the address field, type chrome://plugins/ to access the list of installed plugins
  • Locate the plugin with the name Shockwave Flash, Type: PPAPI (out-of-process)
  • Disable this plugin

That should fix it for you... at least my version now plays nicely in Chrome too ;-)

Hello again, as I wrote in my comment to your .awt file, this does not seem to be a browser problem as it occurs also inside Lectora using the Run command. Inside Lectora, on my laptop, your script fails after 11 playbacks. I understand that this may still be a flash problem. Hmmm...

Will try to figure out whats the issue with Chrome and audio...

Hi Andrew,

Created a awt with a audio-loop for 15 times. Works swell, with one caveat though.. the audio somehow doesnot play in Chrome. Firefox and IE work perfectly.
