"Customized Test Results" for those unhappy with pop-up test results
May 12, 2010 12:00 AM
I find that the pop up test results are much less than adequate... in fact, to the point of difficult to read and confusing. This is especially true where one employs many non-text questions (i.e. graphics drag and drops).
I just want to confirm that there is no way to modify how test results are displayed (in that dreaded pop-up). If that is correct, that is truly unfortunate.
I tried to get away with just showing the student's final score, however, that was not acceptable either.
Finally, I decided to try out the option, "Customize Test Results"... Hey, not too bad!
Although I can finally customize my test results, this feature has a few flaws:
What I like:
- The automatically generated page is not static (as I originally thought). Changes to test questions are also echoed on the results page.
- You may customize the look of this page!
What I do not like:
- No apparent way to create a custom template. This means that one must manually modify this results page, every time it is generated.
- The default text boxes are often too small to fit quiz answers.
- No easy way to include graphics (e.g. check mark for correct answer, x for incorrect answer)
The problem remains that all the work put into this would have to be redone for each custom quiz page.
There is no way to save this quiz results page as a template.
- There is still no easy way to show answers for graphical drag and drop type questions. 1-2, 2-2, 3-4, etc. is probably going to be meaningless to the learner.
