Delay an object from appearing WITHOUT a mandatory transistion effect?

Hello folks,
I found a shortcut to delaying an object from appearing.
Instead of using an On Show Action with a delay, one can save some time by clicking on the Transitions and selecting Delay before Transition...
Unfortunately, there is no selection for no effect. Why oh why? Most or all the effects are so 90's! I am not sure about others but I would NEVER use many of those effects in a business environment. Yikes... Random effects?
Anyhow, perhaps someone more clever with Lectora can offer me a hint on a way to make this work without the effects.... or...
