Browser full screen button

Hello folks,
While testing usability with my new 1000x720 pixel template, I now noticed that some learners may encounter scrolling issues... especially with 1024x768 screens and browsers with a lot of tool bars. This is easily remedied by hitting F11 (in IE, Firefox, and Chrome on Windows).
I wish to provide a button to enable/disable the browser full screen mode or in other words, emulate pressing the F11 key.
Is there a way to do something similar to this in Lectora?
I can do this in:
- HTML...but it works inconsistently across browsers and it only opens to full screen in a new window.
- ASP.NET...but I expect this will be a problem with security settings with various learner's browsers.
On a related note, how would I accomplish this on a Mac? What is the F11 equivalent for Safari?
Any thoughts?
