Always on Top and Accessibility

I created a sliding Menu that slides in when a user clicks the Menu button and slides out when he closes it. I checked "Always on Top" for the Menu Group so it appears on top of other objects. The menu group is "initially hidden".
My question is: will the assistive devices read the menu the first thing even though it is initially hidden?
