Hiding a page in Lectora?

I have a "how to navigate" page within the course that I would like to have the student see once, then not have to see it again. Anybody with half-a-brain should be able to understand what "back", "next" and "home" mean and where they go so this makes sense.
Can I use a variable to make that page disappear from the navigation somehow? I know I could jerry-rig it by copying that first "intro section" (3 pages) and then delete the how-to-nav page. Then thru the rest of the course, just have direct them via the nav to the second version of the alternate INTRO section. But I mean, is that really the best way?
