Excel2Lectora

On LUC2016 this was a topic that came around several times. So decided then to give that a try.

– Creating a Lectora .awt from excel through scripts

Been talking to several users, in my own presentation, but also in others…that apparently would like that. I am sure it is possible. Might make a series of articles on this to follow…

First step is getting a basic .awt created from a Excel file.

For now im just adding several texts and paths to images in the excel and create a .awt from that.

If that basic setup works, im gonna make it so the amount of texts and images added in the excel are dynamic and the .awt will be created properly.

Then finally buttons, groups, actions and all that is possible in Lectora can be added...

Any additional ideas, tips or help is welcome offcourse.

The hardest part is converting source text into RTF format. I hate RTF format. Otherwise, you are essentially converting one XML format (.xlsx) to another XML format (.awt), which is pretty routine.

I'll make sure to officially bring this to our developers for consideration.
