Lectora freezes when trying to edit HTML extensions

Hi community,

whenever I click "Edit" to edit a HTML extension Lectora freezes completely. There's no error message only that Windows error sound and I have to close Lectora via the Task Manager. The same happens when I click the arrow in the bottom right corner of the Value field in a Modify Variable action dialog to expand the editor.

Is it happening to anyone else? Anyone out there who knows how to fix it?

Thanks

Tim

It happens with any project, even new, blank titles. I can still use external files for html extensions and I can still enter text into the Value field. So it seems to be a problem with the editor Lectora is trying to open.

Does it happen with any project? Sometimes this means a specific project is corrupt.

:/ Sorry. I'd try reinstalling Lectora.

The fix for me was finding that the Edit terminal window was located off-screen from a previous extended monitor display (it did not reset its coordinates when the display was unplugged and therefore opened off my primary display). It's technically not Lectora freezing, it's waiting for the Edit terminal window to be closed.

I was unable to toggle to the window and only located it when I attached a second display.

Lectora has some weird behavior with second monitors. I reported a bug to their developers back in 2016 that isn't fixed in 18.0 (18x was so unstable my company reverted to 17 and haven't tried to upgrade since.) Not your bug, a different one.
