Sync Events Play/Pause Button

Greetings all!
Does anyone else have the issue when synchronizing events that the 'Play/Pause' button does nothing? There also used to be a timeline on the left side of the screen that appears to be missing.

This happens to me whenever our administrator does updates. It has to do with adobe flash not being installed. How they fix it I don't know I just call our help desk
