Hi Jennifer,
Have there been any additional service updates recently?
Some issues popped up last week with javascript exercises in our library. We managed to fix the problem, however would like to know if this could have been prevented by knowing upfront about (minor) service updates for Lectora Online.
Hope you can help :)
Best regards,
Menno

Hi, what kind of issue did you have? We did do a small patch recently but it was to fix two customer issues.
The first issue was for 508 compliance. HTML Extension objects were always pushed to the top div order, this is improper behavior that was introduced when we release 3.0. HTML Extension objects should maintain their layer order.
The second had to do with text block height not being calculated properly if the text blocks had margins. This caused some unexpected behavior in ELB Templates. We simply changed the algorithm to include the margin when calculating height.
I had not updated Jennifer on this, we thought these to be non-risky changes. Please do let me know what your issues were, I would like to understand the problems you encountered it will help us to ensure we do not cause these types of inconveniences in the future. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Nope, but i'll let the product team know. It could be a browser update that caused it....
Hi Joe,
Thanks for the reply.
I will ask our tech team to provide you with more detailed info on the encountered issues and the fix we've made. I'll get back to you soon.
For our custom Lectora javascript exercises we need to retrieve the pageDiv to which we append our custom content.
Somehow the pageDiv suddenly returned “undefined”.
Steps in our script:
- Retrieve pageDiv, with success: pageDiv is found.
- Further down in the script: pageDiv suddenly is “undefined”
- Solution: retrieve the pageDiv element again later on in the script.
Seems like scripts are loaded in a different order, variables get overwritten…? (maybe scripts get loaded twice)
This probably has something to do with the first issue you mentioned.
I'll let our VP of Product Management know that you're interested. She's the one who orchestrates any beta testing on products.
In addition to the reply above; Is it possible for me to be included for future (minor) updates and related technical details?
It would be great if we'd be able to test patches in advance and provide feedback if necessary.
