Tips for using mute/unmute flv?

I love the new feature to mute/unmute flv files, but I'm looking for a little guidance as I can't get it to work like I want. I have a Play Audio button and a Mute Audio button, both initially invisible. My title level On Show action shows the Mute Audio button if VarAudio1 = 1; otherwise it shows the Play Audio button. Mute Audio actions are: OnClick, Modify VarAudio1 (multiply by -1); OnClick, Mute FLV Media; OnClick Show Play Audio button; OnClick, Hide Mute Audio button (just to be sure).
When I publish to HTML the buttons appear correctly, and when I click the Mute button the audio stops, and the Play button starts the audio again. My problem is that when I have the audio muted and go to a new page and now want to Play the audio again, it sometimes will play and sometimes will not play when I click the Play Audio button. I need to be able to unmute the audio at anytime.
Am I complicating this one or am I missing an action somewhere? I'm on Lectora vX.1 and using .flv audio files, which are set to Auto Start on each page. Thanks in advance - Russ.
