Need Suggestions for Rapid Development

Well, I think that is ridiculous. I am a Lectora professional and someone just gave me 20 courses to convert from HTML to Lectora. Most people never even dream of some of the tricks I used to convert the stuff. It takes AT LEAST 3 minutes a page to copy and paste and then adjust the layout, tweak the graphics, etc. In a one HOUR course you are likely to have some 30 pages so you are looking at 60 pages at 5 minutes per page = 5 hours absolute bare minimum. I was only able to attain this rate after doing the first 15 courses!!!!! No serious layout required at that point. And this did NOT include the template which usually takes 40 - 80 hours over the first 5-10 courses to get right. Most e-learning designers will tell you to allow 100-200 hours for instructional design and development per hour of online course. I agree with that estimate. More if there is any complexity at all. And no, the integrator will not save you time here. It is mainly an instructional design tool.Further they have not accounted for all the back and forth on the courses once you have the first draft. Look at this from Amer. Soc. for Training & Deve. http://www.learningcircuits.org/2003/jul2003/kapp.htm
