Dynamic resizing [solved]

Some of the guys I work with have put together some JavaScript and CSS that will allow any Lectora title to dynamically resize itself to fit the browser window while maintaining its aspect ratio. It's very easy to use (drop two HTML extension icons into the top of your Lectora title) requires no post editing by the title developer, and works in Lectora 11, 12, 16, 17, and 17 seamless.

You can get it from here and, while its survived all the tests we've thrown at it, we ask that if you find a bug to please let us know.

Yeah - that is excellent. Works as expected for the majority of content that I have tested with but drag-and -drop interactions did not seem to work. The cursor changes on mousing over the drag objects but they were not draggable. The example I tested with requires the user to drag text boxes onto an image.

Nice piece of work approg. Tested the demo, and at some point it got stuck in my browser. Was going fullscreen on and off, and next/previous page. Mailed that to your guys too. Nevertheless great work.

After some investigation, full screen mode failing in Firefox is a bug in Firefox. It will fail with a Lectora 17 seamless title that is: played fullscreen (using the F11 key); open by a javascript call (as is typical from an LMS); and; the current page changes.

undefinedd questions is a bug in our code and we're looking into it.

Yep, it wasn't working with drag and drop questions. [For those technically minded, by overriding a Lectora function we were inadvertently changing the execution context - the value of "this".]

Version 1.2 fixes drag and drop questions.

Note that the operation of full screen mode has also changed slightly. We wrongly thought that there was only two possible scenarios but there are in fact many so we've had to make some compromises though you still get full screen mode.

The code's not been worked on for two years; not been tested in Lectora 18; and, the functionality has been incorporated into the later versions of Lectora. Are you sure you still want it?

Hi All,

Just curious if there's still a way to obtain the files for this (as the original download link no longer works)?

We've been trying to solve some of our own page resizing issues and the description for this looks promising.

Thank you for getting back to me Approg,

We are currently trying to resolve the issue in Lectora 16/17 so no problem if it doesn't work in Lectora 18.

Ok, I've found the Lectora 17 title which includes the custom JavaScript and CSS to allow dynamic resizing - till Halloween you can download it here.

Obviously when you publish the title you need to uncheck 'Scale content to fill Window'.

Let me know how it goes and if you need any help.

Hi Approg,

Sorry for the slow reply, I've been trying to find time to have a look at this before I came back with a thumbs up,

I've downloaded the file and will hopefully be able to look at it this or next week and will let you know if there are any issues, but huge thank you for taking the time to send it through, it is greatly appreciated.
