Is there any documentation on how to create one's own custom Lectora object? Like how branch track has an icon and property settings users can change.

Darrel, I'm pretty sure approg just wants to know how to develop objects like the ones BranchTrack sells.
I'm afraid, approg, that Trivantis historically doesn't do a good job of documenting or exposing their programming interface.
Also, read the ThirdPartyLicenses.pdf file in the root directory of the application.
If you are talking about adding a paid add-on connection in Inspire Tools, like BranchTrack, it's built into the application. Unless you hack the code you'll have to make business arrangements with StoneCalibre, Trivantis or whoever is now calling the shots for Lectora.
Is that what you are looking for or do you just want to create an .awo library object to add to the My Library tab.
Yes, I want to develop an object like the one BranchTrack sells and not an AWO.
If there's not any/much documentation how did BT develop one? Did they have direct contact with Lectora developers?
There is an addon that would be most useful for the company I work for to have if I could have a custom object to control it (so that the our developers didn't inadvertently misconfigure/misuse our custom code "every" time they use it.)
My understanding is that BT, along with forum inhabitant Math Notermans and others, decoded the interface by reading the JavaScript that is how Lectora actually works. The JS is not obfuscated or hidden, it's just undocumented and has no comments.
Hmm, I'm not so sure. I just checked and BranchTrack specific code is within Lectora JavaScript files and there are comments like
//Scene score is how BT told us how to implement...
so I now suspect they worked together and no real option for me to make my own objects :-(
approg, you might send a message to Math. I believe he offers lessons and such. (I met him at a Trivantis show a few years ago, and he's also absurdly nice.)
Sergey Snegirev ( @ssneg ) is the CEO/founder of Branchtrack. He also is ( or was in the past ) member of the Trivantis roundtable, a group of developers who advise Trivantis what path to go in development, so for sure he has the best inside knowledge on how to get external tools developed in/with Lectora. For us outsiders there is no way of getting that to work. You can however ( i did that before ) build a Lectora title from scratch ( -> read javascript / xml ) and thus make/add your own snippets where and when needed. But thats another story, and not available widely alas.

@approg, we work directly with Lectora development team and we have a business arrangement in place. I suggest you reach out to John Blackmon for any info on APIs, integrations etc.
Thanks. I was under the mistaken impression that Lectora could be extended in the way, say, Photoshop can be with plugins. If I had an email for the CTO John Blackmon I would be inclined to contact him ;-)
