Tables Question: How to get text box to show initially scrolled down

First: I'm using Lectora X.4 (7611)

I'm trying to set up a text box with a table that has 287 rows, with the first column being just 1 row. Lectora will not retain the first column as 1 cell however I try it.

I've tried copy/pasting this table from Excel and Word, with and without the first column merged into 1 cell. I've tried merging the column in Word/Excel, then copy/pasting. I've also tried pasting the whole table in the text box, then merging the first column into 1 cell in Lectora. I've also tried building a table with 1 row/2 columns, then embedding the 287-row table in the right-hand column. no go on any approach!

Does anyone know if there are limits to the number of rows in a table? or in a text box? or a limit to the number of rows that can be merged into 1 cell?

Why am I trying to make a cell that is 287 lines tall, you ask?!

I'm setting up a hands-on example of a webapp. The user can enter a few characters in a text field, then click a "go to" button to jump down a list (1000+ items), or scroll down the list to find their search term. My customer wants this functionality represented in the hands-on example.

In a previous course I built, I had a problem with a text box (with a table) that would initially show up scrolled down about half-way. I found out it was because I had a leading cell spanning multiple lines with alignment=center. The text box would display scrolled down to the first cursor position (half-way down the leading cell).

So, I'm trying to replicate this 'error' on purpose to force this 287-line table initially show up scrolled down to the search term we're directing users to go to.

Is there a way to get a text box to initially show up scrolled down to a particular line/row?
