Matching Question scoring ok, displays as "not answered" in results

I've got a quiz with matching questions, and I can't figure out why the results are displaying "Not answered"... it appears as though it's scoring them appropriately (based on total test score), but the results page displays as though the user didn't answer the question.
Help, please?
ps. I'm this close to eliminating the questions altogether because the test results display so poorly (even after modifying the L/R names so it doesn't spit out 1-1,2-2,etc.). The question/task is for the user to match a function to its purpose, and the 2nd matching question prompts users to match a program type with its hallmark features; If you have recommendations about how to better present those in a test question, I'll take that too!
