New User: Need Help with setting Variables

In order to access those variables you need to set your title type as an AICC/SCORM/Coursemill type of title. You can accomplish this by right clicking on the title icon, the top icon in the left hand pane, select Properties, click the Content tab and select the AICC/SCORM/Coursemill option. Once you do this, you should see an AU in the left hand pane and have access to all the AICC/SCORM reserved variables. The most common value for the AICC_Lesson_Status variable is completed but if that doesn't work for you, you need to contact your LMS vendor to see what value they require.

I followed several threads on this forum in setting that variable. However, when I go to Create Action, I don't get a list of the reserved variables (i.e. Status or Score). It allows me to create a new variable but if I try to enter one of these, it gives me a message that these are reserved. So, where do I find and set these reserved variables (they also weren't listed in the Variable Manager section)? Not being a programmer, what other 'variables' can be created? How do I know what the initial and final variable parameters are supposed to be (i.e. 0, 1, c, complete, x to the power of 2)?? Thanks!
