Passing variable from Flash to Lectora 6

Ok, let me back-track a sec. I found out from the development team that THIS particular project was built in Saba 5.1.I have not be able to make it work with the HTML version. I do not know really where to start with respect on POSTING to Lectora or GETTING from Flash.Do I need to create a separate .js file or can I add a variable to one of the .js files generated from the publishing software.Also, am I able to test if it works in the publisher or do I need to fully publish to watch it work?Thank you for any help.
