LMS test score is adding to the last score

We have a course that has two tests at the end. If the user scores under 80% on the first test, they go to the second test. The score is reading back each time we test this course, i.e. so not taking the latest score of 80, but reading a combined score each time we go through it of 160. Now i did put a reset test action on the second test to ensure i was not reading the lower score from the first one. I also edited the AU file to be 100, 80 instead of the 200, 160 it was showing when published.
Is there a variable I need to add to report back the latest correct score amount to our LMS and not a combined each time the person is in it.
