Embedded Events Causes Audio Degradation?

I have a course with some flv audio files that we recorded directly into ProSuite 2008 with SP2 (I stress they were NOT converted from a different format). The audio sounded fine after review. Then, after embedding a series of events into the file, the play quality has dropped off and has periodic echo effects and other anomalies. The events do work, in case that matters.
