Avatar Experience. Thoughts, Attitudes?

Laura,The revision aspect is definitely one thing that has made me hesitant about using avatars and voice narration in general. And you're right that intrinsic feedback can be done using just text, or just text and images. Again, the interactivity comes from good instructional design, not flashy media. Interestingly, when I tell people I'm working on simulations or scenario-based training, they tend to assume I'm using moving, talking avatars, but that really does not have to be the case. And yes -- I'm going to check out CrazyTalk too. Even with all of the downsides of using avatars, if the development time were lowered, they might be more feasible for when you really want to use them in the service of the course design.
