Avatar Experience. Thoughts, Attitudes?

Exactly.I did a CBT last year that taught people how to use certain online Medicare resources. One part of it was a set of simulations (text and image only) that showed customers asking questions related to their Medicare benefits. The learners were tasked with deciding which resources to access to answer the questions correctly. There was no need to have the customers talk or move; it would not have added to the interactivity. And in most cases, I think this is the case with avatars. If I were making a more complex, branching simulation, I think I would rather have a full set of images showing a model expressing 20 different emotions than have to animate an avatar. I think the learning effect would be the same. Using cartoons is a good compromise, because you have the ability to edit/animate them somewhat.
