Audio leveling

How are you recording your audio?We were having problem with our audio as well. One instance would be loud, the next instance was softer. It seemed that no instance was the same.We corrected this problem by purchasing a background noise canceling microphone/headset, Plantronics DSP-100. I believe the new DSP-400 is compatible. What a difference $60.00 made to the quality of the audio.
