Using Lectora to create software simulation
July 6, 2009 12:00 AM
Dawne,
I did not use Captivate. I captured the screens, and then took them into Photoshop for editing. I then imported them into Lectora and added entry fields, keystroke actions, etc. to simulate the software. I added lots more actions and variables to evaluate what the user was doing.
I did not correct the user if they made a mistake along the way. I saved all feedback for the end of the transaction. There's summary screen at the end that lets the user know how they did. It relies on the aforementioned actions to determine feedback for the user.
If you're interested in seeing some of this I'll be giving an online presentation for the Colorado LUG July 15. Also, I have a small sample file I can send you. It doesn't have all the features mentioned above, but it may help you get started.
