Slow Page Load

I'm trying to trouble shoot why I'm getting a white space for the entire page that shows before the page loads. This doesn't seem to have anything to do with whether I tell images to pre-load or not because I've experimented with publishing the title both ways. My question is has anyone noticed any difference in the way a page loads if it is triggered by a button on a previous page with the script to (load) the next page .vs a standard navigation button that has the script to Goto the next page. I'm trying to trouble shoot this problem because most of the pages of my course (SCORM 1.2 compliant residing on a Meridian LMS) have this problem..... White page before anything loads and sometimes, it takes several seconds before the page is visible. Any Suggestions???
