Here are three workarounds. As far as I can find out there is no ctrl-click or shift-click that will do what you want. We should put an entry in the Suggestions heading for this.Option 1: Right click on the item and ungroup just it. When you have it where you want it, you can drag and drop it back into the group in the left pane.Option 2: For text boxes, you can resize them on any side. So say you want to move your text box up 1/2 inch. Drag the top handle up 1/2 inch. Then click and shorten the text box. You have effectively moved the box w/o ungrouping it. Option 3: Create a dummy text box outside the group and move it close to the object you want to move. Click on a blank space on the page and drag over the dummy text box AND the item you want to move. Then you can drag the dummy text box and the object inside the group will move with it. (You cannot use the ctrl-click technique to select items both in and outside of a group.)
