simple Flash problem

This probably has a simple solution (I hope) I'm putting a simple Flash animation on the page in Lectora. The Flash file has 4 frames with Stop actions. The first frame has 3 buttons that (on press) go to the seperate frames to view information on those individual frames. The 2nd, 3rd and 4th frames have movie clips that play when that frame is called. Heres the mystery. If I load the .swf into Lectora and tell it NOT to auto start, the first frame with the buttons is inoperatable. If I tell the .swf to auto start, the Flash file goes to the 2nd frame and plays that movie clip - even though the 1st frame that holds the buttons has a STOP action. This is really making me crazy - this is a very simple .swf. I've tried commenting out the button actions - that has nothing to do with why it's not stopping at the first frame. I have no idea why Lectora is ignoring that first stop action and going to the second frame.....Sure hope someone has a simple solution! This probably has a simple solution (I hope) I'm putting a simple Flash animation on the page in Lectora.
