Scoring Essay Questions

You can do a multiple condition test on the entry variable for "contains" fire, burn, ignition, with each one on it's own line. Then set the radio button option to either all or any.

Although, this might be better served as a scenario based question. with a setup, issue, and outcome, then give some possible answers, as essay questions are never truly scorable in a course with any accuracy. when the word gets around, users would just type in one, two, or all of the words needed for a correct answer.

partch said:Is there a way to score essay question responses - for example, you ask a question and if the answer contains any or all of 3 specific words (burn, fire, ignition) the question would be considered correct. Answer might be: The ignition of the wire caused the fire to burn. How would you get an essay question like this to score in the test?
