Removing items not needed

@ griffin:What I meant was the following:Some images have been used in our course. They exist phys. in the /images folder. At some point in the course, the previous course-designer removed the images from the course, but did NOT remove it phys. from the hard drive. Since the image is no longer used, I want it to be removed from the /images folder as well. But because it is no longer in the course, and thus not noticed by the error-checker, I will have to remove it by hand. This would not be a problem normally, but it is when I have to remove over 500 items by hand, for almost every course that has been build last 2 years (about 9 different or so).Removing 4500 items by hand is not my favorite waste of time, go figure @Ben:Thanks for the clarification. I will try this method, and post the results here.
