Progress bar?

Ludo, there is an easy way to do it in versions prior to 2007 but you have to put a graphic on each page. We will create a black frame around a red bar. The red bar increases in size as you move through the title. For this example let's say we have 3 pages in the title and each page will advance it 33.33% of the way.Let's say we want the red bar to be 300 pixels across (pick a multiple of the number of pages in your title) and 10 pixels thick (height). Create a red bar at the book level at, say, position 10,10 that is 300,10 in size. Take that bar and copy it onto each page. Then go into each page and change the horizontal dimension to 100 for the first page and 200 for the second page. Now delete the original bar from the book level. Now we have to make a frame. Let's assume we want a black frame 1 pixel in line width all the way around. This will be done at the book level. Use the graphics tool to construct a rectangle with a single width black border and a white interior. Place that rectangle at position 9,9 and make its length 302 and its width 12. (two more to be bigger than the red bar). We also positioned at at 9,9 so the starting left top was one pixel above and to the left of the redbar so it could be seen.Voila....you are done.Downsides....if you have lots of pages doing the red bar thing on each is a bit tedious...but once done it is done. Secondly, if you add a page in the middle somewhere you have to change the size of all subsequent red bars (unless you have so many pages no one would really notice...then don't change anything.)I like the bar in 2007, but if you don't have 2007, this works just great.Edited By: tekprof on 2007-4-13 16:55:33
