Move Custom Library
December 1, 2016 12:00 AM
Hello
I need to place my custom library on our network so that it is stored under source control. I know the location for the library is:
C:\ProgramData\Trivantis\Lectora Inspire 16\MediaLib\Custom
The help file says they can be stored in a different location. If I move my library, how can I tell Lectora where to find my library objects?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Amanda

Hi Jennifer, thanks for your reply.
I did try this before I posted the question, and it is really confusing.
First, I think the help topic is incorrect, the instructions advise to access the media library here:
undefined
However, I found my Media Library here:
C:\ProgramData\Trivantis\Lectora Inspire 16\MediaLib
I've tried copying the Custom folder onto our network and also the whole media library folder. I changed the location under Fileundefined
As an update to anyone wanting to move the media library, including the "My Library" custom library. I raised a ticket because I couldn't get it to work and was advised that Lectora needs to be closed when moving the folder.
So this worked, but I had Lectora closed down when I moved the folder, then opened Lectora and set the new folder location in the Preferences, then closed Lectora and re-opened and it is now possible to use the My Library tab and the Stock Library tab, and my custom library items are stored on our network rather than C drive.
The MediaLib folder has a specific directory structure which should remain intact. You can move the folder to another location, but you need to do that with Lectora closed down.
Thanks Jennifer. I have found that out now, however the help file does not provide this detail. I understand the help file will be updated.
Regards
Amanda
