Launch Program/Doc Outside Browser

Is there a way to for Lectora courses published to SCORM to open things like Word documents in their default program instead of Internet Explorer? I've found the setting for this in Windows, so if I touch every machine in the company, I can make it work, but I was wondering if there is a way I can explicitly force the word document to open in Word?Thanks!
