Invisible buttons
October 29, 2015 12:00 AM
Hi there! Thanks again for being patient with all of my simple questions. I'm making an invisible button to go under a piece of text. I set it up and it looks "right" - the way all of my visible buttons look (with an action set, clicked to Always on Top, etc), but when I go to preview mode, the button doesn't exist. Is there something special I should be doing with invisible buttons?

I have the words Covenant Way spelled out. I want them to be able to click each letter, and have that open a text box below. Each text box will show what each letter represents (C for courtesy, etc).
Ok, tell me more about what you're trying to do. You want them to hover or click text, then what is supposed to happen next?
This is probably a way way to simple response to your question, but did you by chance reposition your text box but didn't do the same for the invisible button?
Nope, I haven't moved the text box. The text is right where I want it, but when I hover over it, nothing happens. When I look back on the authoring screen, both the text and button are visible.
Are you previewing the browser and if so which one and what version?
Are you able to upload the title files? If you zip your title package there is an option to add an attachment to comments in the forum. It sounds like something is going on within the title so it would be easier to help you figure out the issue.
Jennifer, I am previewing in the preview screen mode (f11), but when I previewed in the Google Chrome browser it did the same thing (which is to say, nothing).
I really appreciate the help. Here's the title. Right now I only have one invisible button, over the C on page 3.
1. Right click on picture2 - layering and send to back.
2. Select Text Block (holds Covenant Way) go to properties and remove check from always on top.
That should do it. Looks real nice by the way.

Strangely, the button works if I move it away from the text. It only doesn't work if it's layered with the text box.
There is nothing other than 4 blank pages in the orientation.awt file in your zip. Can you try again?
