How to use AU?

An AU is basically a course with a course. Each AU has it own set of variables like lesson status, score (if a graded test is included), lesson location, etc. Therefore the LMS has to be the one to launch each AU independently of one another. When you import your published content into your LMS, it will show up as one course but when you click on the course there will be a listing of AUs to choose from. Each AU must have a completed value before the overall course will be set as completed. So basically, those taking the course can only launch one AU at a time. If they want to go AU2 and they are currently in AU1, they need to exit AU1 and click on the link in the LMS for AU2. If you are using SCORM 2004 and your LMS supports it and includes it own navigation tree, the user can click on the AU2 link in the navigation tree while in AU1 and it will replace AU1 with AU2 in the course window. Again, this navigation is something the LMS must provide, not the course. Hope this helps. An AU is basically a course with a course.
