.awo versus .awp files

When downloading templates from the asset library I am faced with a decision. I can download an .awo file or .awp file.
Can someone explain the difference between the two file types? Why would I opt for one over the other?

I believe that .awo is for your library objects (images, pages, actions, chapters, etc.), while .awp is for your full course templates.
