Windows 7 - Install and Publishing
July 4, 2013 12:00 AM
We have been having issues with write permission between the C drive (where we typically install Lectora) and User Profile folders which results in publish errors (either publishing doesn't work at all, or files are lost). I think our IT department didn't set up the Windows 7 accounts where the User automatically has Admin rights to their workstation.
Since I don't have Windows 7 myself, I haven't had the opportunity to delve in to this issue - but was wondering if there's a way to either install or run as Admin user to prevent this problem? I thought perhaps if Lectora were installed in the User Documents and Settings rather than on the C Program Files directory that could help, but not sure if this is possible.
Also was wondering if maybe pointing all the resources to folders in the user's Documents and Settings would fix the issue so that writing between C program files isn't necessary (either by copying over the assets needed or moving them?). Not sure if this would work with the .js and other support files.
Thanks!
