Video buf...ferr...ing on laptop and cannot view on phone...

Hi guys,

I have inserted a video we took in a warehouse and added this as an action to show in CenarioVR. The show action works but the video is really slow and jerky. I assume its the resolution size as it was taken in 4K. Also this does not work at all when viewed on mobile in the browser or the CVR app. I am going to try handbrake to compress the video, but would love some feedback wrt the mobile issue?

In the past, Trivantis attributed this problem to weakness of the portable OS (specifically iOS) in playing back high-speed video, and in not supporting VR features well. They advised me to downgrade the video (as you are doing) but this rendered it so fuzzy that we just stopped using 360 video. If video is actually necessary, we insert a 2D video in the 360 environment.

I managed to sort this out with the feedback from @carlfink above but used any video converter and reduced the resolution and actual size of the video. The quality is still pretty good and it looks great!

I'm working on a 360 video experience. The video is exported with Adobe Premiere (at 4k) and does not play well in Cenario VR. Buff...ff..ering as well. Also it is not iworking properly in our LMS (scorm) and as html5 export.

Original was (Insta 360 One): 6080x3040 (29,97f)

Downsized to: 3840x1920 (25f/VBR1-48M)

We had the same experience. We basically decided that for anything but the CVR app (which is not our main development target) we would have to restrict ourselves to stills.

The original video is 6K video. Very few internet connections will be able to display that high bandwidth content without buffering. Sounds like you handled it correctly, bringing it to 4K video.

To clarify my previous comment, the CVR app (on all platforms) pre-downloads all the components (including video) before playing, so it isn't vulnerable to bandwidth issues. Unfortunately (and, to me, inexplicably) HTML5 doesn't have a way to pre-download elements of your site/page.
