Scripting is really called using Actions in Lectora. Best that is currently available is clicking the Help button on any dialog box that opens up in Lectora or their user manual. Also, click below and download the Toolkit. It gives some examples. After the conf, I will be developing some online courses for people like yourself who do not go to formal training.
