Bullets not importing

I am a little confused with lectora. You able to export the text as an rtf file for translation, but it seems that the bullets are not exported. When I import the translated text the bullets are missing. Then I have to reformat all the bulleted text. It is very frustrating. Why does this happen? Does anyone know?
