Question about Cookies / Bookmarking
August 16, 2007 12:00 AM
Steven,I got information directly from Trivantis about this; Lectora does in fact simply drop a cookie to the local PC hard drive in the temporary internet folder. Now, I have the same concern about multiple users on the same PC, BUT it is not necessarily a problem for me as, here at the Courts, all users have individual profiles. Conveniently enough, temporary internet folders are specific to profiles. In other words, if I am logged in and leave a bookmark on a computer, a coworker's executable will not access the cookie when they log in. This takes a little pressure off of me as it is usable out of the box, even though it is not an 'elegant solution'. I was planning to run down the KitchenSych lextension mentioned by AndyP to see if it is a better solution, but apparently they only work within Internet Explorer and we are publishing executables. If you are working within IE it may be worth looking into.In my downtime, I am going to try to work something up that is better - I will give you a holler by pm if I come up with anything!Peace!Edited By: agreatheight on 2007-8-23 11:49:48
