I think any of us would be stupid to say that training is a waste of time! I took the "Extreme I" training and found that I had picked up on most of what was taught by working with an advanced user, trial and error, and consulting folks on the discussion board. There was value added in learning more effecient ways to program. Sometimes you know how to do it, but someone knows how to do it easier and faster. As well, I always see value in checking out how other people are putting products together - through templates, graphic designs, etc.
