Problems converting Lectora to Adobe PDF

I am trying to change my Lectura course into a PDF but the PDF process errors and completely locks my laptop. I have to shut down to get out of the error. I am using Lectora 2008 and Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard. Lectora help desk doesn't know what is causing it.
My coworker is using Lectora 2009 and same Adobe version and his also locks up when trying to convert to PDF. Lectora's help desk couldn't solve this problem. Told me to use something other than Adobe to create my PDFs. This is not an option.
Has anyone heard of this problem and have a solution (which doesn't involve getting different software)? My customers and I would be eternally grateful!
