Sounds like there is something at the bottom of the page. If you have an object on a page and then shorten it so that object is no longer visible to you in edit mode, when you publish that object is still there. Maybe you have some title level object at 6500 for the Glossary. Make one of your pages 7000 long and take a look. Do a Select All and then scroll down.
